Berjaya Auto Philippines, Inc. (BAP), the official local distributor of Mazda vehicles, has introduced the Mazda 2 Premium Series which includes three new variants of the brand’s subcompact hatch - the Midnight Edition, Kabuki Edition, and the Crimson Edition.
For the uninitiated, the Premium Series is essentially the sportier version of the regular Mazda 2 hatch. Up front, it has sharp-looking headlights with daytime running lights, bumper lip spoilers, and fog light housing accents. In profile, you could see that the Mazda Premium Series is fitted with side skirts which adds to its overall sporty demeanor. The rear, on the other hand, is equipped with bumper accents and a tailgate-mounted spoiler.
Inside, the Mazda 2 Premium Series has a simple, yet classy theme. On the dash sits a 3.5-inch LCD monitor, a feature similar to the regular Mazda 2 models. It also has an MZD Connect rotary knob which allows the driver to easily control the vehicle’s infotainment system. In fact, the driver can tilt or turn the rotary knob to move the cursor to the desired location.
Under the hood is a 1.5L SkyActiv gasoline engine that produces 108 hp and 139 Nm of torque. It’s then mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with sport mode.
Here’s an AutoDeal Unboxing video with one of the Mazda 2 Premium Series models - the Midnight Edition. AutoDeal Unboxing is a series of short videos exclusively-produced by AutoDeal.com.ph.
