Boasting with class, technological convenience, and practicality, this all-new Grand Carnival from Kia made its local debut at this year’s Manila International Auto Show (MIAS).
The new 7-seat MPV has levelled up its status in the segment, and it all begins with a redefined tiger nose grille. The vehicle’s Euro-inspired design gives it the modern edge of a wide stance with a cab-forward design and an aerodynamic side profile. Minimal changes were made on its overall height and width, but Kia still managed to increase the Grand Carnival’s interior space.
There’s now more front shoulder room and greater leg room for all 3 rows.
External visibility is also improved via its heightened seat hip point. Full-leather beckons all the seats and its smart tailgate feature allows loading convenience as it raises automatically upon detection of the smart key.
The all-new Grand Carnival’s attention to detail goes beyond its chrome and wood interior accents. It comes with a 3.5-inch OLED multi-information display. This provides the driver with on-the-fly information like speed, distance, and fuel consumption. It also features technologically-oriented amenities like auto light control which matches headlight intensity to ambient lighting, and an active fuel-saving eco system.
As for on-board entertainment and added features, the all-new Grand Carnival comes equipped with a 6-speaker multimedia system with radio, CD, MP3, and AUX/USB ports. This supports iPod and hands-free Bluetooth connectivity. Plus, the powered sunroof is standard equipment.
Propelling the Grand Carnival is an R 2.2L inline 4-cylinder 16-valve DOHC CRDi diesel engine with E-VGT, mated to a 6-speed AT with sport mode. It has a maximum output 200 hp and pulls away at 441.3 Nm of torque.
The all-new Kia Grand Carnival is now available in 1 variant, the 2.2L EX CRDi 7-seater, and is listed at P2.3-million. It is available in 9 exterior colors: Clear White, Snow White Pearl, Bright Silver, Platinum Graphite, Aurora Black Pearl, Formal Deep Blue, Sky Beige, Titanium Brown, and Black Berry.
