Aside from the all-new Prius, Toyota has brought the updated 86 at the 6th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS). The 2017 86 comes with a restyled exterior and an updated interior.
The cosmetic changes integrated to the vehicle made the 86 look more aggressive. Up front, it is fitted with LED headlights, a revamped bumper, a wider grille, and new fog lamps. The rear, on the other hand, gets redesigned taillights which now comes with LEDs while the bumper is tweaked to achieve better aerodynamic performance.
Inside, the 86’s 3-spoke steering wheel now has multi-function controls. Moreover, the infotainment system is equipped with a new capacitive touchscreen display audio with smartphone mirror link via WiFi function. The design tweaks continues at the 86’s refreshed meter gauges and multi-information display.
Powering the 2017 86 is still the same 2.0L Boxer engine that delivers 200 hp and 205 Nm of torque. It is then mated to either a 6-speed manual (MT) or automatic (AT) transmission.
It is available in the following exterior colors: Dark Gray Metallic, Pure Red, Crystal Black Silica, Ice Silver Metallic, Lapis Blue Pearl, Orange Metallic, and Crystal White Pearl.
Pricing for each variant of the updated 86 are as follows: 2.0 MT (P1,749,000), 2.0 MT White Pearl (P1,764,000), 2.0 AT (P1,849,000), and 2.0 AT White Pearl (P1,864,000).
