When you’re shopping for a subcompact car, you’d usually to find a compromise between cabin/trunk space and style. Suzuki Philippines Inc. (SPI), however, may have just solved this dilemma with the launch of the all-new Celerio.
The bold(er) exterior styling of the all-new Celerio gives the illusion that it's a bit small. But in reality, it is now 100 mm longer, 70 mm taller, and the wheelbase is stretched 65 mm longer compared to its predecessor. This allows more headroom, legroom, and elbow room for both driver and passengers. Soon-to-be owners of the all-new Celerio should also be happy to know that they would be able to carry a lot more luggage with its 254L trunk capacity.
The center console is designed to be ergonomic and is topped off with an integrated Audio system that can play AM/FM/CD/MP3/USB/AUX formats. There are also several cup holders and storage bins littered around the cabin.
Passengers will experience a smoother ride in the all-new Celerio as it is now equipped with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). This is a first in the highly-competitive subcompact segment according to Suzuki. Aside from the CVT variant, a 5-speed manual transmission version is also available.
It’s powered by a 3-cylinder 1.0L DOHC engine that can produce up to 67 hp and 90 Nm of torque. This can do 27.8 km/L on the highway assuming that traffic is light. It also boasts tons of safety features such as Dual Airbags, ABS, Side impact beams, and a immobilizer.
Now on sale, the all-new Celerio priced at P507,000 for the MT and P542,000 for the CVT variant. The Celerio comes in 8 colors - Snow White Pearl, Star Silver Metallic, Mineral Grey Metallic, Super Black Pearl, Ablaze Red Pearl, Cerulean Blue, Sunshine Yellow, and Raspberry Pink.
Although units will only be available late August, dealerships are already accepting reservations for the all-new Celerio.
