Peugeot Philippines brings in the new 3008 GT Line SUV that boasts a longer yet lighter body compared to the outgoing MPV model.
The 3008 GT Line looks a lot meaner now thanks to its larger intakes, new headlight layout, wider fenders, and chiselled body lines. Meanwhile, its chrome accents and 2-tone color way keeps this SUV classy.
Inside, a dark theme with chrome accents can be seen due to the Bolero Mistrol Satin coated textile on the armrests and door panel. Its occupants are spoiled with automatic climate control and leather seats that have an adjustable seat cushion, heating system, and massage feature for optimum comfort.
It now has an 8-inch touchscreen that’s compatible with Apple CarPlay, MirrorLink, and Android Auto compared to the standard multi-information display the previous model has. The new 3008 also boasts a 12.3-inch all-digital instrument panel called the iCockpit that shows important vehicle information.
Capable of seating up to 5 people, the 3008 is longer by 82mm yet it’s 100 kg lighter in than the older model. This is all possible because of the brand’s Efficient Modular Platform 2 (EMP2), which also provides a more responsive and agile drive. Apart from that, this SUV has 3 off-road drive modes – mud, sand, and snow (probably not applicable locally).
Powering this SUV is a 1.6L turbocharged gasoline engine that can produce 165 hp and 240 Nm of torque, slightly less pulling power than the outgoing mill.
As for safety, most of the safety features of the 3008 are still available such as the airbags (driver, front passenger, side, and curtain), cruise control, and parking sensors. New for this SUV, on the other hand, is the inclusion of hill start and descent control, Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), brake assist, and ISOFIX child seat anchors making it a safer vehicle to drive.
The new Peugeot 3008 GT Line is now available in the Philippines for P2,590,000, which is a few hundred thousands more than some of the midsize SUVs in the market today. This price difference could be something to seriously consider especially for car buyers searching for a legitimate premium SUV.
