There’s a new navigation voice on Waze and you wouldn’t believe whom it is from. It’s DJ Khaled (you should know how to read this), ladies and gents. The latest celebrity voice to be added on Waze is from the American-born Palestinian DJ, who you probably have been hearing on your favorite hits. Seems like DJ Khaled has found a new medium to shout his name on.
As a review, Waze also featured the voice of Morgan Freeman back in 2016. No kidding, we were so down with the idea and we loved that it happened. For a time, God—a reference from the movie Bruce Almighty—guided drivers on their journey to righteousness (we kind of made this up because how could we not?). Now, it’s the “journey for greatness.”
Along with Deezer, a global music streaming platform, Waze announced that the new navigation voice option is now available until the end of June 2019. The feature is in celebration of DJ Khaled’s new album “Father of Asahd” launch. The voice feature will accompany drivers on their journey for greatness, with inclusions of DJ Khaled’s words of advice, such as “Stay Focused”, “Don’t play yourself”, and “The top’s off the Maybach!”
“We are beyond excited to launch the DJ Khaled voice in partnership with our friends at Deezer. DJ Khaled has one of the most recognizable voices in the industry and is beloved by many of our 115+ million users around the world, so we can’t think of anyone better to safely and entertainingly guide Waze drivers on their journeys.”
In case you missed the news, Waze and Deezer began working together last year, when the navigation app partnered with the global music streaming service for its Waze Audio Player. Apart from stating advice, DJ Khaled would also soundtrack your trip if you listen to his 100% playlist on Deezer.
DJ Khaled’s voice is available on Waze for a limited time so update your voice today. You may do so by going to Settings > Voice Directions > DJ Khaled and listen to Father of Asahd. Here’s a teaser:
