The Chevrolet Colorado has been around in the automotive market since 2015. Since then the golden bowtie pickup truck has been steadily updated. Last year the golden bowtie brand showcased an off-road-ready version of Colorado in its ZR2 trim-level. The off-road-oriented truck featured a new front face as well as off-road-oriented parts. As reported by GM Authority for the 2021 model year, Chevrolet is also set to release the much tamer version of the ZR2 in the form of the Z71 in the US and in Korea.
Unlike its more aggressive-looking counterpart, the Chevrolet Colorado Z71 looks more suited to city work than its off-road-ready counterpart, however, it does get a new grille, a new set of headlights, and a new bumper. With its much more subdued look, the Z71 could be what Chevrolet Philippines could bring into the country as a refresh for the local version of its popular pickup truck.
Compared to its ZR2 trim-level counterpart the Z71 has a different front grille that could come with either a black or gold bowtie badge, instead of the word Chevrolet spelled across it. The Z71 also comes with a black backing on the front bumper along with corner mounted fog lamps. The refreshed pickup truck also features a new faux skid plate located on the lower portion of the front bumper. Topping off the new look for the Colorado Z71 is a set of 17-inch wheels.
Exact power options for the Chevrolet pickup truck are still unknown, however, the refreshed pickup truck could enter the Philippine automotive market with the same engine options it currently has. This means that it could retain its 2.8-liter and 2.5-liter turbo diesel motors. There is no word yet from Chevrolet Philippines if it will be bringing in the refreshed model into the country, however, with the shutdown of its Thailand plant and with the Colorado also being available in Korea, the refreshed 2021 Colorado could easily make its way into the Philippines soon.
