Redeveloped from the ground up, Porsche has revealed the all-new 2017 Panamera which features the performance of a sports car and the comfort of a luxury sedan.
Aesthetically, the 2017 Panamera still has the same silhouette as the previous model. The vehicle is designed with a long, dynamic proportions and a wide body. However, it has a lower roofline at the rear as compared to its predecessor. It sits on either 19-, 20-, or 21-inch alloy wheels, depending on the variant. The rear, on the other hand, has LED taillights with integrated 4-point brake lights. It also has a diffuser with dual stainless steel exhaust pipes.
Inside, the classic dials and buttons are replaced with touch-sensitive panels and configurable displays called the Porsche Advanced Cockpit. These can manage the quad-zone automatic climate control system and infotainment functions.
Meanwhile, the Panamera’s headunit has a large 12.3-inch touchscreen which houses the next generation Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system. The PCM’s features are online navigation, Porsche Connect, smartphone integration via Apple Car Play, and a new voice control system.
But not all have been turned digitally as the analog tachometer in the center of the instrument cluster pays homage to every Porsche sports car.
This coupe will be available in 2 variants. The Panamera Turbo comes standard with a 550 hp twin-turbo V8 engine and the Panamera 4S is equipped with a 440 hp twin-turbo V6. These will then be mated to a new 8-speed Porsche dual-clutch transmission (PDK) which transfer power to the ground on all 4 wheels.
The 2017 Panamera offers soon-to-be owners a car that’s both at home at the track and still practical for the daily drive. This will arrive in dealerships in the United States as soon as January 2017.
Porsche’s local distributor, PGA Cars Inc., has yet to make an announcement when or if it will arrive in the Philippines.
