Kia is off to a good head start in 2025, and the numbers say it all. Kia Philippines posted a 71 percent increase in sales from January to June 2025 compared to the same period last year. Based on data from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI), the brand sold 4,195 units, making it the fastest-growing brand among the country’s top ten carmakers. This growth reflects rising interest in Kia’s lineup and more people choosing the brand for their daily driving needs.
According to Kia Philippines Managing Director Jay Lopez, this milestone shows how strong Kia’s presence has remained through the years. He said the brand’s mix of new models, growing dealer reach, and clear direction toward mobility has helped shape its continued progress.
One of the biggest drivers of Kia’s growth is the Sonet, a small crossover known for its fuel efficiency and practical size. With over 3,171 units sold, it continues to be Kia’s best seller, especially among younger and first-time car buyers. The Sonet also celebrated its first year in the country with a convoy event joined by over 60 owners, showing its strong following in the community.
The Sorento, Kia’s hybrid crossover, recorded triple-digit growth compared to last year, showing that more buyers are now open to hybrid vehicles. Other electrified models in the lineup include the Carnival hybrid and fully electric EV6 and EV9, giving customers more choices depending on their lifestyle.
Lopez said more Filipinos are choosing Kia for its smart designs, reliable everyday use, and growing variety of models. He also pointed out how the brand’s movement, called “The Kia Movement,” has helped connect with a new generation of car buyers who value innovation and practicality.
The Kia Movement brings all of Kia’s products under one goal: to offer practical and modern vehicles that suit both current and future needs. This goal is also supported by ACMobility, the mobility arm of Ayala Group, which works closely with Kia to improve its reach, EV charging network, and digital services.
Kia’s strong first-half performance in 2025 shows the results of continued customer outreach, clear direction, and a focus on future-ready vehicles. As the second half of the year begins, Kia plans to further improve its lineup and continue pushing for electric options to meet the changing needs of Filipino drivers.
