We live in an age where emojis have invaded several social media platforms, a trend that continuously evolves given the constant expansion of its variety. Billions of emojis are sent on a daily basis, and in fact nearly every mode of transportation such as cars, scooters, boats, spaceships, and ski, covers the 3,000 approved icons available to emoji users. What’s found missing though was a pickup truck emoji, an omission which caught the attention of pickup truck fans. Given that, Ford has decided to address the demand by sending a proposal to the Unicode Consortium for the addition of a pickup truck to all emoji keyboards out there.
When customers started demanding a truck emoji, our drive for continuous innovation meant we knew we had to help make it happen.
Just to note, the Unicode Consortium is an organization which reviews and approves proposals for new emoji. The proposed pickup truck emoji exhibits that generic capable styling, the concept itself was drawn from customer-based data such as message boards, texting influencers, and watching social media feeds.
People want a truck emoji that’s fresh, stylish, carries their ideas, and ‘tows’ the line on what a truck means. The end result is a modern icon that should give all truck fans a smiley face Emoji.
The Blue Oval does have an esteemed background for pickup trucks, namely its F-Series has become America’s best-selling truck for 42 consecutive years. This proves how Ford really is worthy of helping throughout the development of the all-new pickup truck emoji. Locally, the Ranger pickup truck continues to hit numbers for Ford Philippines in terms of sales.
The emoji itself shall be customized for all mobile platforms if the design is approved by early 2020, catering the demand of its prospective targets from skilled tradespeople to active families and emoji lovers alike.
