Ford Philippines is having a great year this 2018. It opened the year with positive performance in January, as the company has recorded sales increases on all its three best-selling models. Now, it continues to dominate the American blue oval brand
Ford Philippine’s ‘three kings’ continue to flourish with their growing market demand, remaining as buyers’ favorite selection. Consisted of the Everest, EcoSport, and the Ranger, the American blue oval brand’s confidently sitting pretty in the Philippine market. The model that consistently leads Ford PH’ sale is the Ranger pickup truck, which showed quite a performance last August.
Tallying in 898 units delivered to Ford PH’s happy customers, the Ranger’s year-to-date sales substantially grew by about 16 percent. All in all, Ford Philippines was able to sell 7,616 vehicles since January 2018. It’s morphin’ time for the mighty morphin’ Ford Ranger, yes?
Well, being on top of Ford PH’s sales isn’t a new topic for the American pickup truck. In fact, it has been on the right track since this January and has gotten stronger in the succeeding months. In July, it got the highest year-to-date increase rate with 22 percent or a total of 6,718 units sold.
Also, in the same month, Association of Vehicle importers and Distributors, Inc. (AVID) first quarter of 2018 report showed that the Ranger alone slammed 19% sales growth on the local market’s chart. This made it a superior in its segment, as it was able to secure 23 percent of its sales.
Meanwhile, the Everest nameplate sold 391 units, which drove its year-to-date sales to 3,979 vehicles. The EcoSport, on the other hand, contributed to the August sale with 331 units sold up its sleeve. This pushed its year-to-date sales to 3,989 in total, which is quite bigger compared to its bigger brother Everest.
“As we continue to refresh our Ford lineup this year – including two of our three top-selling vehicles in the Philippines with the new EcoSport last month and the new Ranger later this month – we expect our sales will be given a significant boost through the remainder of the year.”
Bert Lessard Ford Philippines managing director
Aside these top-notchers, Ford PH was also able to see big improvement on the Mustang’s sales. The sports coupe demonstrated a 23 percent year-to-date sales increase by selling 29 units in August. Since January, Ford PH delivered 314 ‘Stangs to customers.
Now that the blue oval brand has successfully brought in the 2019 EcoSport into the market – and with the Ranger Raptor following up later this month, we’re quite intrigued to see if these numbers get a little too crazy in the coming months or so. We’ll see.
