The Philippine automotive industry continues to bounce back, and Kia is riding the wave of growth once again. The South Korean brand is proud to announce that it was able to achieve 3,748 vehicles sold in 2021, which is a massive 76 percent sales growth over 2020.
What’s even more impressive is that the brand managed to outpace the Philippine automotive industry’s 18 percent growth in 2021, and leading the charge during that year were three key models from Kia, namely the Stonic, Soluto, and K2500.
The Stonic was introduced into the market in October 2020, and it was sold under the tagline: “Style that is Iconic.” Aimed at young adults, the subcompact crossover had loads of appeal with its styling and two-tone body colors matched with Kia’s impressive quality. The Stonic also boasts a good amount of features as well as a capable 1.4-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder gasoline engine that delivers enough power and torque while returning good levels of fuel economy for an excellent and stylish city ride. All-in-all, the Stonic covered 37 percent of Kia Philippines’ total sales in 2021.
Another model that is focused on delivering value to all customers is the Kia Soluto. It alone accounted for 21 percent of Kia’s total sales in the country for 2021. It’s aimed at professionals and is also one of the more popular options for fleets due to its subdued and tasteful looks paired with a load of value for consumers. It comes with the same 1.4-liter gasoline engine as the Stonic, and it is also well-equipped for its price.
Finally, the Kia K2500 covered 17 percent of the brand’s total 2021 sales. The logistics industry ballooned in the Philippines, and small to large business owners need a reliable transport solution that can take their operations to the next level. The K2500 is highly customizable, offering heaps of options for business owners to tinker around with. The model is built on a sturdy chassis, that has a 2.5-liter diesel motor mated to a six-speed manual transmission beating at its heart. Kia Philippines also offers a 4x4 model of the Kia K2500, making it ideal for just about any kind of job be it in the city or out of it.
“Our teams are inspired by our refreshed vision to equip Filipinos with everything they need to move towards a brighter, bolder future. We are confident that our purpose-driven vehicles, partnered with our efforts in improving our dealerships, customer care, and after-sales services, will accelerate Kia Philippines into the next phase of growth in 2022 and beyond.”
