Honda Cars Philippines Inc (HCPI) is now accepting reservations for the 10th generation Civic ahead of its local debut.
The compact sedan has a beefy front fascia with LED daytime running lights (DRL), a protruding front bumper, and chromed grille. It also has a coupe-like design as the rear glass swoops down smoothly from the C-pillar to the trunk giving it a sporty vibe to it. The distinct rear tail lamps give it a modern, sporty character which is accented by edgy lines at the boot. The sides are given the same treatment thanks to its chiseled character lines at the bottom of the doors and the new 17-inch RS Design Alloy Wheels (for RS Turbo variant only).
The all-new Civic RS Turbo variant will be powered by a Honda's very 1st VTEC turbo engine. On the other hand, the base model will have a 1.8L gasoline engine. No performance figures have been disclosed by HCPI as of this writing.
Inside, the instrument cluster features a full color multi-information display that shows vehicle speed, SMS, and email for the driver's easy viewing. To control it, the all-new Civic has what HCPI calls the Electrostatic Steering Wheel Controls which allows the driver to easily move from audio to smartphone options with just a swipe.
Entertainment is care of the 7-inch touchscreen Advanced Display Audio that can be paired to any smartphone. Other cool tech for this compact sedan include remote engine start, auto climate control system, and the Smart Key that has a Walk-away Auto Door Lock function. This automatically locks the door when the system detects that the Smart Key has left the perimeter range of around 2 meters from the vehicle.
The all-new Civic will be available in 2 variants - the 1.8 E and RS Turbo. Color selection is limited to 6 – Cosmic Blue Metallic, Midnight Burgundy Pearl, Lunar Silver Metallic, White Orchid Pearl, Modern Steel Metallic (exclusive to the 1.8 E), and Rallye Red (exclusive to the RS Turbo).
