A long-running secret, no matter how bad or good it is, is bound to come out sooner or later. We’ve waited patiently for Toyota to give us a glimpse at one of the most eagerly anticipated nameplates to ever come out of the Japanese brand, but it seems that the cat is out of the bag. Well, at least 25% of the secret is out. We now know what the production Toyota Supra will look like from the front, and boy does it look good.
According to the supramkv.com forums, the said 2020 Toyota Supra was given a paparazzi treatment as someone was able to snag a front photo of it while in transport. Who it was or who the transport company was at the time the photo was taken is unclear, but what we do know is that the Supra was being transported in a covered car carrier and someone was able to snap a quick photo after loading or before unloading the car.
To be honest, all the hush-hush camouflage and stickers didn’t do the impending Toyota Supra any justice, and it looks absolutely stunning with a production paint job. From what we can see, there are blacked out mirrors and bits of the front spoiler (which are most likely not carbon fiber), and those huge air vents on either side of the bumper look to be functional. The sharp nose at which the front all comes together may prove to be a problem for mounting a front license plate, but seeing as this is a car that will be sold all over the world, regulations will have Toyota find a way to attach mounting points.
It looks very similar to the Toyota FT-1 concept car that was shown off at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, and that’s a very good thing. Tri-beam LED headlights similar to those on the higher spec Lexus cars seem to be available on this car, and the best part is that it differentiates itself wildly from the BMW Z4 that shares the same platform. In any case, this tease is a good find, and we’re more excited than ever to see what the whole car will look like come 2019.
