Nissan has recently announced that it will be making a Final Edition version of the R35 Nissan GT-R. As it stands the Japanese automaker has two of the oldest sports cars being sold in the market today - that being the aforementioned GT-R and the Nissan 370Z. With that said and with the arrival of the next-generation Z car coming 2022, Nissan wanted to do something special with the GT-R R35. The Japanese automaker will be creating a new limited to 20 units Final Edition of the popular sports car. The new limited-edition vehicle serves as a proper send off to the R35 generation of the vehicle as it awaits its next-generation successor.
Under the hood of the GT-R Limited Edition is the same 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged gasoline engine currently found in the vehicle. However, it has been tuned to produce more power than its current performance NISMO variant. It will reportedly make 710hp and 780 Nm of torque which will be sent to all four wheels via an all-wheel-drive system. If these numbers seem familiar it is because these are similar figures to that of the GT-R50 by Italdesign. The GT-R50 is essentially a NIMO GT-R that has everything cranked up to 11 and features a new distinctive design. It is still unclear if the Final Edition of the R35 will be coming with cosmetic changes befitting the last generation of the vehicle.
Best Car Web magazine reports that the Final Edition of the vehicle will cost about 40 million yen in Japan which equates to roughly P18.3M a price tag worth of the limited edition vehicle. With that said there is no news yet if Nissan will be planning to allocate one of these units to the Philippine market. If, however, they do then the country will be blessed with one of 20 of these limited edition vehicles.
