As the Japanese automotive company takes another step in the Nissan NEXT midterm plan, there are certain changes with senior management for the ASEAN region. By then, this should help Nissan achieve sustainable growth, financial stability, and profitability in the near future.
First, is the newly appointed Regional Vice President, Marketing and Sales, ASEAN, Isao Sekiguchi. Notably, he already has more than 20 years of experience in the automotive industry. In fact, Sekiguchi currently serves as President Director for Nissan Motor Indonesia. Joining Nissan back in 2014, he managed to render significant experiences by becoming a managing director for Nissan North Africa and Egypt.
This position has then become effective on December 1, 2020, as he is set to involve himself with the overseas business performance and brand development of the Japanese automotive company across 18 markets in ASEAN. Moreover, Sekiguchi is also tasked to guide and lead several teams including marketing, sales, aftersales, network development, legal and government affairs. He is set to report to Yukio Ito, Corporate Vice President Marketing and Sales for the Japan-ASEAN region.
Next up is Yutaka Sanada, who will be promoted to Corporate Vice President Corporate Strategy, Special Projects from formerly being the regional senior vice president and head of Asia and Oceania operations. As he reports directly to Hideaki Watanabe, Senior Vice President Corporate Strategy, New Mobility, Corporate Governance, Corporate Management, Board of Directors Office. As for his background, Sanada started its venture with the brand in 1991 and since held several roles across multiple functions, logistics, sales and marketing, production and supply chain management, and various business units which include the Alliance and Nissan Motorsports (NISMO).
Lastly, the current corporate vice president, Japan business, Yukio Ito has then been appointed as Corporate Vice President of Marketing and Sales for the Japan-ASEAN region. By that, he will then report to Executive Vice President Brand Champion, Global Marketing and Sales, Global Customer Experience, MC Chairperson for Japan-ASEAN, Asako Hoshino. Both of the said positions above are then effective by January 1, 2021.
