BRC to host 2015 Phil. GT Championship Rd. 5 this September 27

For the last time this season, the 2015 Yokohama Philippine GT Championship heads back to the Batangas Racing Circuit (BRC) for its 5th round this September 27, 2015.

More drivers are expected to join after seeing the fierce competition in the GT150 and GT100 divisions. This is largely helped by a mid-season rule revision, allowing GT150 and GT100 drivers to use the Yokohama S Drive road tires. While slower by 3.0 to 4.0 seconds a lap, these tires were proven to be more economical to use in the race.

As it stands, team W-Autosport’s Willie Torres leads the GT300 scoreboard by a long shot. Can his rivals Veli-Matti Kaikkonen and Dondon Portugal catch up, now that the series nears end-point?

Meanwhile, it’s a close 3-way fight between Walter Zamora, Paolo Mantolino, and Richmon Dela Rosa as they race for the win in the GT200.

In the GT150, all eyes are glued on a head-to-head battle between teammates Dindo de Jesus and NR Joaquin. This is because there’s still no hint of Patrick Dela Rosa’s return.

Lastly, the GT100 division title is pretty much in the bag for Ivan Diaz. But he still has to keep pushing the lead as Edwin Rodriguez and his new Mazda 2 SKYACTIV race car is still on maximum attack for the win.

The racing event will also host support races such as the Philminiracers Championship Series, Classic Aspirated Cup, Miata Cup, and the Philippine DTM Revival. Moreover, the Sparco Bracket Racing just got levelled up and is now a full-on track-day event. This consists of a Bracket Race, Grid Race, and Track Attack Challenge.

The 2015 Yokohama Philippine GT Championship is sanctioned by the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP) and sponsored by Yokohama Tires Sales Philippines, Inc. (YTSP), Sparco, and Aguila Auto Glass. It is also supported by Asian Carmakers Corporation (ACC) and BMW for providing the official pace car and Speedlab as the official pace car dyno provider.
