The Mitsubishi Airtrek has just been leaked through a set of images and it strongly resembles its concept which was revealed at this year’s Auto Shanghai. Notably, this Electric Vehicle (EV) is the result of Mitsubishi’s combined efforts with the Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd. (GAC Motor).
The following images were released ahead of its debut. Based on its concept, the Mitsubishi Airtrek shall adorn the dynamic shield design that’s treated with a lot of chrome details, black cladding, and it’s also accentuated with some sharp edges. Its lighting appears to be an all-LED affair. Overall, its fascia resembles many of Mitsubishi’s current models including the Xpander, Montero Sport, and the Outlander.
The application of chrome accents and black cladding continues over to the side. Given that this is a crossover, the Mitsubishi Airtrek also has extra ground clearance which should make it easier to tackle unexpected obstacles ahead. Its side angle is then topped off with a set of machine-finished wheels that do match its futuristic vibes.

As for the rear, notable design cues include its floating roofline which is created by the black panel that cuts out the D-pillar and its pair of LED taillights which sort of looks like a letter Y laid on its side.

Inside, the Airtrek’s cabin looks well-laid out. It features a two-tone theme, there’s a bit of sophistication going on, plus, it also matches the futuristic vibes of the exterior which is pretty good.
As per Chinese sources, the Mitsubishi Airtrek will come with a rear electric motor that is able to produce 183 hp. Reports also stated that the battery capacity levels to be offered shall range between 500 and 650 kilometers. Last Auto Shanghai 2021, Mitsubishi stated that the Airtrek EV will be launched by the end of this year as the fourth model of Mitsubishi Motors’ lineup in China.
With that in mind, could Mitsubishi Motors Philippines consider bringing this in the future? It should expand the brand’s line of electrified vehicles. Currently, only the Outlander PHEV in the lineup is the only electrified vehicle from the brand.
